Charlotte Wührer (1990) grew up in the UK and now lives in Berlin, where she writes and works as a freelance translator from German into English, specialising in subtitles and surtitles.
Her fiction and non-fiction has appeared in various online publications, including Elsewhere Journal, Counter Service, Daddy Magazine, Slink Chunk Press and Visual Verse. In print, she can be found in SAND Journal and in several Berlin Spoken Word volumes. She is anthologised in the 2018 National Flash Fiction Day Anthology and in the Love, Pride issue of Ellipsis Zine.
She was was shortlisted for the 2018 Mslexia Novella Award, the 2018 Cambridge Short Story Prize, the 2017 Bristol Short Story Prize, the 2016 Reader Berlin x Exberliner Short Story Competition and the 2016 Mslexia Children’s Novel Competition. In 2018, she was the first student city writer (stadtschreiberin) in Berlin.
In November – December 2020, Charlotte will be finishing her novella, Desire Lines, in Finland at the Saari Residence, under a grant from the Finish Kone Foundation.
